Payment and platform terms
Last updated 22 July 2026. These terms cover how money, tickets and refunds work on StageIt.
What StageIt is
StageIt lists events and venues, issues ticket QR codes, and helps organisers check people in at the gate. We charge organisers a flat listing fee. We take no commission on ticket sales.
The contract for any event is between the buyer and the organiser. StageIt is not the seller or the event host, and does not verify what an organiser promises about their event.
How payments work
Paid tickets are collected by the organiser through their own UPI ID or mobile number, shown to you at checkout. You pay them from your own UPI app and enter the 12-digit reference number.
Because person-to-person UPI gives no third party a way to confirm a payment, the organiser checks it against their bank statement and confirms it. Your seat is held while that happens. Your ticket is issued only once they confirm.
If a hold is not confirmed within the stated window, it expires and the seat is released. No ticket is issued and nothing is charged by StageIt - any money you sent went to the organiser and must be resolved with them.
Refunds and cancellations
Each event sets its own cancellation policy, shown on the event page and again at checkout before you pay. That policy is the organiser's, and the organiser is responsible for honouring it.
Refunds are issued by the organiser, not by StageIt. We hold none of the money, so we cannot refund it. If an event is cancelled or an organiser does not honour their policy, your claim is against them. We will provide the booking record to help resolve it.
For organisers: your payment details
You are solely responsible for the UPI ID and mobile number you enter. Buyers pay those details directly.
If you enter the wrong UPI ID, buyers' money goes to that account. StageIt cannot trace, recover, reverse or refund it. Check your details before publishing.
You are also responsible for confirming payments promptly, issuing tickets you have accepted money for, honouring your own cancellation policy, and for any tax you are required to collect or remit. Where you are GST-registered, invoices are raised in your name, not StageIt's.
Tickets and entry
Ticket QR codes refresh every few seconds. This is deliberate: a screenshot will not scan, which stops a single ticket being forwarded to several people. Open your ticket in the app at the gate.
A ticket admits the number of people stated on it, once. Entry remains at the organiser's and the venue's discretion, including for capacity, safety or age requirements.
Discount codes
Codes are created by organisers for their own events. The discounted amount you see at checkout is what you pay. A code may be limited by date, quantity or number of uses, and an organiser may withdraw an unused code at any time.
Listing fees
Organisers pay a flat fee to list an event; venue managers pay per venue per month. These are charged by StageIt and are separate from ticket revenue, which is entirely yours.
A published event stays published for its ticket-holders regardless of your billing status. We do not take an event dark and strand people who have paid.
Your data
Organisers can see the name, email and phone of people who bought tickets to their event, because they need it to run the event and resolve payments. They may not use it for anything else.
To have your personal details removed, email info@stageit.co.in. Where a payment record must be retained, we anonymise your identity rather than delete the financial record.
Contact
Questions about an event or a refund: contact the organiser first - they hold the money and set the policy. Questions about the platform itself: info@stageit.co.in or +91 77999 91109.
